Plan C Summary:
I.
Fire Management
- All
areas with considerable amounts of underbrush and young trees will
be burned in order to reduce the amount of fuel for a potential
fire
- Logging
activities within the forest will be continued as long as loggers
discard their waste
- The
Crimson
Mountain and
Mineral Mountain
developments will be permitted and there will be no
boundary clearing necessary as long as developers and property owners
have “adequate” fire insurance
II.
Yellow-breasted Toad
- The Forest
will continue to monitor the toad population until decisive reasons
for the toad’s disappearance are identified
- Development of the Crimson
Hills area and the Wamasana Bottom will be approved
- Recreational uses of
both areas will remain
III.
Wamasana River
- The
Forest will continue to permit existing
uses of the River and will not advocate for any additional protections,
as the River may be a future source of energy for the surrounding
communities
- They
will continue to monitor the level of sediment disturbance caused
by existing uses of the River for five years and will revise River
restrictions based upon the study’s findings
IV.
Mineral
Mountain Estates
- The Forest
will allow the development of the Mineral Mountain Estates and the
proposed road
- Attention must be given
to integrate the housing developments and road with the natural
environment, however strict restrictions will not be imposed
- The speed limit of the road will
be 45 miles per hour
- Heavy trucks and commercial usage
will be permitted as it is the most efficient route from I-15 to
I-128
