![]() Hills to the south of Mineral Mountain. As you can see, there is a dirt access road leading into the forest that may recreationalists use for 4x4 tours and dirtbike routes. Many recreationalists are up in arms about the potentially restrictive laws that would limit their access to protected forest areas and that would close some of these roads altogether. Environmentalists from PURE NATURE! believe that these roads are unnecessary and further errode the natural water runoff flows during the rainy season and spring thaw. These trails are argued to be the cause of mudslides and divert water flows from sensative wetland ecosystems surrounding the forest. Recreationalists believe that they have a right to use the land and that their impact on the trails are blown out of proportion by "whacko treehuggers" as one recreationalist called opponents of free and unrestricted forest access. |
