This is a highland prairie area right outside of Mineral. Sparce housing and large ranching properties pepper the countryside. The Historic Industries Coalition and the ranching and farming industries are fighting development here and on other areas in the county because they fear that these industries and associated lifestyles are in danger of being lost. There are daily conflicts between ranch and farm owners and new residents who complain about the noise, smell, and run-ins with stray cattle.
