Sparce housing peppers the farmland outside of Silver Cliff. This ares is slated for development by developers who are buying large tracts of lands from farmers in the region. Though many farmers and landholders are eager to sell off their land for profits that far surpass their yearly crop revenues, others like the Historic Industries Coalition, are worried that the region will lose its rich farming history to tract housing and strip malls. Many of the rural residents who are not planning to sell their land are worried that further growth in development will not only change the face of their community and landscape but that new zoning laws will prevent them from using or selling their land in the future.
