Mission: STAC was founded in 1998 by Megan Lee Jones when she discovered that the drinking water for the residents of Slippery Creek was contaminated by hazardous waste. Our mission is to advocate for the residents of Slippery Creek. We hope to secure a safe and affordable source of drinking water for our community.

Interests:

  • Find a safe and affordable source of water for Slippery Creek Residents
  • Clean up the area around Slippery Creek to make it safe for recreation
  • Try to complete the clean up with as little damage to the local economy as possible.

Positions: STAC is currently lobbying the EPA to try to get Slippery Creek designated as a Superfund. If this happens, the EPA will attempt to get Mayor Millhouse to pay for as much of the clean up as possible and use federal funds for the rest. They are also attempting to bring attention to the problem of contaminated water through a series of protests and demonstrations.
